Wirksworth Christmas Weekend 2025

Wirksworth Town Council is pleased to support the festive period in the town again this year by supplying the Christmas tree and providing the businesses with Christmas lights.

On Thursday 4th December we will be holding a carol singing event to coincide with the Christmas tree lights being turned on. As usual this will follow the Peace Ceremony which will take place at 5.30pm on Memorial Hall Gardens. We will then gather at the Market Place at 5.55pm and the lights will be turned on by the Mayor at 6pm, followed by the singing of a family friendly selection of carols. This year we are pleased to be joined by the fantastic Raise Your Voices Choir and we hope to have another jolly special guest too! Download your carol sheet here: Wirksworth Carol Sheet 2025

On Saturday 6th December and Sunday 7th the Christmas Markets will take place including all the best produce and gifts in Derbyshire plus alpacas and plenty of Christmas cheer! All this along with the Panto at the Town Hall and Santa Specials down at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway (get your tickets for both before they’re sold out).
