Re-opening of Tuesday Market and Barmote Croft Public Conveniences
Re-opening of Tuesday Market and Barmote Croft Public Conveniences
Wirksworth Town Council will be reopening the Tuesday Market on a trial basis commencing 14th July. The stall numbers will be reduced to enable social distancing measures to be introduced, which include a one-way system for shoppers. The market will operate between 8.30am to 12:30pm.
Please do come and support your local market, but be aware there will be measures in place to limit the number of people within the shopping area.
We need your help – we realise that the market has traditionally been a social affair, but to minimise potential queues, we would ask you to leave the space as soon as you have purchased your goods.
Barmote Croft Toilets will also be reopening, initially they will be open Monday – Friday from 9:30am until 3pm. This will allow the Town Council to undertake an increased cleaning regime.
These measures have been introduced to mitigate the risks posed by Covid-19 and to comply with government guidelines to enable the reopening of both services managed by the Town Council.
This is a trial, the market and public conveniences can only continue to operate if we are confident that we can do so whilst keeping everyone safe and socially distanced.
