Wirksworth Sunday Christmas market will be showcasing the finest local producers and makers in Derbyshire. If you’re looking for Christmas presents or simply a browse and a bite to eat, it’s a great way to spend the day with the family. There will be a Santa’s Grotto in the Memorial Hall in support of Wirksworth Preschool, mulled wine, hot food and drinks and lots of festive cheer! Local shops will also be open.

Getting here:  Buses stop directly outside the Memorial Hall. From Matlock the 6.1 (Sixes, TrentBarton towards Belper), 110 or 111 (Your Bus, towards Ashbourne) travel to this stop. From Belper the 6.1 (Sixes, TrentBarton towards Matlock).

There are car parks at Market Place (DE4 4ET) and Barmote Croft (DE4 4FF) where parking is free for permit-holding Derbyshire Dales residents until 11am.  There is a free car park on nearby Wood Lane.

Cycle parking is available on site.

Facilities: 

Cash Machine on site

Toilet facilities can be found in the Memorial Hall and Barmote Croft car park.

Catering available to suit all diets.

Hiring the Hall

Main Hall

We have  two buildings with rooms to hire on an hourly basis, and the newly renovated Fanny Shaw’s Community Building (FSCB) which is operated on a key loan system.

Town Hall:- The Main Hall is large, suitable for a variety of uses – dance, exercise, large meeting space, wedding reception, family parties, musical events, etc, whilst other rooms – the Club Room, Ante Room, Council Chamber, are suited to smaller classes/groups. All rooms are available for hire during the day & evening during week days & weekends.

Memorial Hall:- the Hall & Kitchen are available to hire for meetings, parties, fayres, events and classes/groups, during the day & evening during week days and weekends.

Fanny Shaw’s:- Community building key available free of charge for use by groups such as: parents, schools, nurseries, scouts & not-for-profit groups holding events on the park.
